Kurdistan 24 (K24) is a broadcast news station based out of Erbil, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It aims to deliver 24-hour news from Kurdistan and around the world to “transform the media landscape of Kurdistan. The television network covers events across the Greater Kurdistan area, and offers a unique analysis on relevant issues in this region.
In addition to political news, Kurdistan 24 offers segments on the Region’s culture from all four parts of Kurdistan, and updates its viewers on the sporting world.
“The main goal of this project was to build a unified news-telling concept of the TV channel, based on the universal news channel patterns, without combining these with ethnic symbols. The core concept of K24 is standing on the ground of base graphic elements of the logo. This approach also helps to form the radial metrics as a tool of the ground dynamic composition.” – Pixel Productions
The channel packaging was done by Pixel Productions, a Moscow based virtual creative workshop.
The use of the arrow in the K letter is a clever idea which is used in transitioning between elements.
The packaging is graphically rich with lots of overlays, but at no point of time does it look obtrusive. Animations & transitions are smooth and easy to the eye.
